Two-Minute Glory – A Musical Short Story

ID-100129585Two-Minute Glory is a short story for new college grads and other youngsters who are excited about moving to new cities. As I was working on the mix and master of this podcast, it started to become apparent that there are some other themes snuck in there as well. Fear of Public Speaking, for example, that’s in there as well. The question of who really initiates and controls romantic relationships was skirted around and I feel that this story definitively proves that the controller of romantic relationships is the man. Or the woman.  Continue reading

Audio Fiction about Spiders AKA White Daddies

White Daddies is a work of horror set in a Midwestern town. The theme of what motivates a Caucasian father or “White Daddy” is explored. Several Stephen King stories helped to inspire this story, especially, “The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill” from the motion picture Creepshow, and, perhaps strangely, Moby Dick. (Explicit Language and Adult Themes).

A Heartwarming Short Story of Family, Alcohol and Aliens

The Magic-Fiver is a short story exploring the numerous secrets that a seemingly normal family can keep hidden. No, it was not inspired by Robin Williams and his portrayal in Mork and Mindy… or was it? It was, however, brought to you by the memory of the experience of playing with Legos as a kid.

I can still remember the holidays and existing in a world perfectly balanced between the discoveries held in small plastic toys and another, more ancient, force gathering around our house: Grandparents.

A Hybrid Fantasy and Science Fiction Story about the Edge of the Universe

Embarkment
is a short work of science fantasy where the outer and inner limits of the human experience are explored. Fictional concepts like the ticking clock and in medias res have always been appealing to me for their ability to captivate the sophisticated reader. This story provided an opportunity to explore these concepts as well as a scenario for examining what lies at the core of the human spirit. … plus there’s a monster! (Explicit Language and Adult Themes).

“It was as if Elliot had awakened from   anesthesia to find himself buried up to

New Ideas on Goal Setting

Certainly, many of us have heard the success and motivational gurus talk about how we have to have “goals.” In this podcast, I criticize this idea and ultimately suggest a new approach.
Look, our lives are full of distraction like the idea of an octopus with seven legs being upset that he can’t get on disability and inking a nasty letter to the octopus commissioner of octopus assistance with his very own inky, black fluids. You see?! that was distracting, right? Listen to me talk about stuff.

Not the Best Twilight Zone Episodes Ever

Lesser-Known Twilight Zone Episodes!

How about an homage to some of the lesser known episodes? Sure, we’ve all heard about the time William Shatner freaked out on the plane (Nightmare at 20,000 Feet!) But what about those other Twilight Zone episodes? The ones that haunt us for reasons we can’t explain. Continue reading

Modern Manhood – A Manifesto

Podcast Modern Manhood Essay ManifestoHear ye, hear ye! Come gather round and extend me an outstretched ear. At the click of a finger is nothing less than my very own, personal Jerry Maguire Memorandum. I wrote it at a feverish pace, immediately after I turned 30, and, make no mistake, every word is true!

You may not agree with every single thing you hear, but the reason I wrote this is that I felt it necessary to make an attempt to explain my version of the world and how we got where we are within the context of the broad sweep of human history.
